The summer months are drawing to a close, and people across the Indian subcontinent are preparing to welcome the welcome rains that are likely to arrive shortly. 

After a sweltering summer, it’s a joy to welcome the rain. 

We naturally seek hot beverages and crunchy snacks as the seasons change. Our mouths water for a cup of masala chai and some delectable fried appetizers, which pair perfectly with the cool breeze and overcast skies. We agree that it’s difficult to resist the allure of deep-fried goodies and other food desires, but certain healthy foods may be just as tasty if you come up with new methods to prepare them.   

Here are some healthy snack ideas for you

Roasted Soy Almonds

To make roasted soy almonds, combine 1 cup raw almonds and 2 12 tablespoons tamari in a mixing bowl. Roast for 10-15 minutes on an oiled baking sheet at 180°C, tossing periodically, until golden brown. These snacks are simple to prepare and store. Furthermore, they are high in proteins and good fats. Plus, if mildly seasoned, they can satisfy salty and crunchy desires. 

Chilli Spread Pumpkin Seeds

Combine 1 cup pumpkin seeds, 2 teaspoons olive oil, 12 teaspoon chili powder, and 14 teaspoon sea salt in a mixing bowl. Toast for 8-10 minutes at 180°C, stirring occasionally, until crisp.    This famous late-night snack is high in tryptophan, an amino acid that your body converts to serotonin, which then becomes melatonin, the sleep hormone. 

Cheesy Celery Sticks

1/4 cup Greek yogurt or hanging curd + 2 tbsp crumbled blue cheese

Toss celery sticks in the dip. It’s a great protein-packed snack for any time of day.
